From expanding our services to Peterborough to moving to Thornton Road and saying goodbye to our old Oshawa head quarters, 2024 has been a year filled with change and new adventures for DKI-CRCS.
It is also the year we celebrated 45 years of business. With this in mind, as we head into 2025, we want to recognize the milestones we have reached and the communities we have supported along the way.
Community Involvement
2024 has been a year filled with community events including some of our favourites such as the World Wildlife Fund CN Tower Climb, where we raised over $6000 and our fourth annual Bowling for Gory event with the Greater Oshawa Chamber of Commerce where we organized a food drive for Simcoe Hall Settlement House.

In November we broke our Movember fundraising record, collecting more than $4,300. DKI-CRCS matched this total dollar for dollar, bringing our campaign total to $8,644 for men’s mental health, suicide prevention, prostate and testicular cancer.
New Events and Adventures
Throughout the year, we built some new community partnerships including one with CrossFit Oshawa. In the summer we had coach Emily Bolahood and Kevin Bowles join us to deliver presentations about nutrition and lead classes in our newly constructed wellness centre. This year, we are happy to welcome coach Em back to continue to support the health and fitness goals of our DKI-CRCS family!

In May, our team of five ambitious cyclists travelled over 600 kms to raise money for Ronald McDonald House Charities. This was a part of DKI Canada’s ongoing Bringing Families Home campaign. If you would like to donate to this campaign, click here.

As we head into a new year, we are excited to continue supporting more community members within Durham Region and Peterborough.
Milestones and Accomplishments

In our 45th year of business, we expanded our services to Peterborough, moved to a new facility in Oshawa, held a ribbon cutting celebration with our long time business partner PetleyHare, and welcomed our closest community partners into our new state of the art building for our open house.
Our dedication to our communities didn’t falter as we supported not only organizations and charities in Durham Region but also homeowners through various weather events including the heavy rains and flooding in the GTA this summer.
In September, our very own Kyle Douglas was awarded the Oshawa Chamber G.W. McLaughlin Award for his leadership and dedication to the community.

“This past year has been remarkable for our company, marked by significant growth and achievements that reflect the hard work and dedication of our team,” Matt Douglas said. “This progress not only strengthens our foundation but also inspires confidence in the potential we have to accomplish even more.”
Reflecting on the successes we have had in 2024 motivates us to continue working hard to serve our communities in 2025.
“As we step into the new year, I’m excited about the opportunities ahead, particularly growth in the Peterborough region, and exceeding our customers expectations from our world class facility in Oshawa, Matt said. “I look forward to continuing our journey of innovation and success together!”
